Styles In The City: Fashion Conference Expo

    There are many talented designers, make-up artists, jewelry designers, photographers, and models in the fashion industry but we rarely see any that come from my hometown in Detroit, Michigan. I know that there is some great talent in my city waiting to take the fashion industry by storm but they don't possess that preparation or experience to get them there. Executive Producer, Ebony Rollins and Fashion Coordinator, Jamar Broaden came up with an idea to host a fashion conference expo in the city of Detroit for all those in the media and fashion industry. This conference allowed all designers, vendors, models, make-up artists, event planners, photographers, and etc. within the media and fashion industry a chance to network and attend seminars that were designed to help improve your career. The fashion conference expo included 4 sessions designed around certain areas of training with speakers from all areas in the media and fashion industry. The sessions also included Q&A time. I was very lucky to meet some of the most talented and creative designers, artists, photographers, and models from Detroit. If there is one thing I have learned it is that networking is key to success within this industry and any profession. Networking allows you to prompt your brand and receive assistance from others to improve your brand. The fashion industry is constantly changing and you have to stay on top of all the latest trends, events, and marketing in order to stay successful. I truly enjoyed the fashion conference and everything it offered. Hope to see you all there next year!
