Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

McQueen has did it once again with his new collection. He is one of my favorite designers and his work is simply amazing and creative. In his Fall/Winter 2010 collection he was is inspired by Byzantine art, the carvings of Grinling Gibbons, and Old Master paintings and altar pieces including, in particular, works by Jean Fouquet, Sandro Botticelli, Stephan Lochner, Hans Memling, Hugo van der Goes, Jean Hey and Heironymus Bosch. McQueen has brought back the true craft and creativeness of fashion back to the table. His line portrays a poetic and medieval beauty that still has a modern look.

(this gown reminds me a medieval sorceress)

I believe this collection rebels from the direction fashion is going in today. With the long gowns and short draped dresses it brings back a more vintage look; calm and simplicity. His last collection was simply outstanding and he will truly be missed in the world of fashion.

McQueen may not be here with us physically but his work, achievements, and perspective on fashion will continue to live on in the world of fashion.

Gucci Spring/Summer 2010

When I look at Gucci's Spring/Summer 2010 I see a futuristic-glamor look. The structure and design of the clothing is what makes the line. The usage of straps, silver hardware, and the different degrees of openings gives it a sci-fi glamorous look. Not only does it has a certain sci-fi glamor look but the line also presents a certain athletic look. I think Frida Giannini has once again presented a new and energetic look for Gucci while still upholding the expectations of the brand.

This Is my Take on Fashion

What is fashion? The dictionary defines fashion as a prevailing style or custom, as in dress or behavior. Fashion not only consist of what is in or what is out. I see fashion as something more complex then just clothes. Fashion surrounds culture, religion, age and self expression! Fashion represents creativity and inspiration; Fashion makes a statement; Fashion is beyond the human eye.
